Nutrition and Health students can receive the practical part of their education in North Denmark Region.
The education to become a Professional Bachelor in Nutrition and Health is divided into three study programmes and North Denmark Region receives students from all three:
- Management, Food and Service
- Health Promotion, Prevention and Communication
- Clinical Dietitian
The duration of the education is 3½ years and comprises of a joint basis of 1½ years and a 2 year spe-cialization. Practical training is a key element of the education programme and North Denmark Region provides internships both at our hospitals and at Nordjysk Mad I/S.
Each of the three programmes contains elements of interdisciplinary cooperation with relevant profes-sions in and outside North Denmark Region.
Professional Bachelors in Management, Food and Service can focus on management and food quality in cooperation with doctors, nurses and trained kitchen professionals.
Professional Bachelors in Health Promotion, Prevention and Communication can focus on health promotion, communication and interacting with doctors, nurses and trained kitchen professionals.
Clinical Dietitians identify nutrition problems and assess the nutritional status of patients. They develop careplans, monitor the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and counsel patients on making special modifications to their diets. This is often done in cooperation with doctors or nurses. Furthermore Clinical Dietitians have particular competences advising healthy people with prophylactic purposes.
